When Dogs Meet Fashion & Art: MODE by Zofia Antwerp

Sometimes a great encounter simply starts with a message on Instagram. That is how we came into contact with Zofia Antwerp. Her work immediately caught our attention: colourful, distinctive and with a leading role for something we at Gigi can never get enough of dogs.

When we heard that her exhibition MODE was on show at Moxy Antwerp, we simply had to take a look. A place where dogs, fashion and art come together.

If you know Gigi a little, you know that we believe the world of dogs does not have to be boring. And that is exactly why we felt such a connection with Zofia’s work.

In her art, dogs, fashion and a generous dose of personality come together. Dalmatians become fashion icons, classic golden frames get a playful twist and even a handbag is transformed into a unique work of art.

One piece feels like a vintage magazine cover, while another could have come straight from an unconventional fashion editorial.

And honestly? It felt a little as though we had stepped into the world of Gigi.

From Instagram to Antwerp

One of the things we love most about building Gigi in Antwerp is the people we meet along the way.

We first got to know Zofia online through Instagram. That made it even more special to see her work in real life and meet the person behind the art.

It is exactly those encounters that make entrepreneurship extra special for us. Discovering creative people, supporting one another and seeing how many extraordinary ideas are being created right here in Antwerp.

What especially appeals to us about MODE is that dogs are not simply portrayed as pets. They are given character. They are given style. They are allowed to be a little over the top. And of course, that is something we at Gigi can completely relate to. Because why should everything for and around dogs always have to be traditional?

At Gigi, we have believed from the very beginning that dogs can be just as much a part of fashion, interiors, travel and lifestyle. Or, as we like to say:
